lookandfeel new media
This Website is slick, but tongue-in-cheek. It is recommended that you go to "Our Story" under "About Us," and watch the movie. Art Dept., Production, and Development folks will see themselves in the parable.
The Edge
Thinking Person's Website: Enter at Your Own Risk!
Disasterium
This is a strange little site but it makes better use of the HTML Refresh tag than most implementations I've seen. (Sighted by Lori Piquet)
Landscape Architecture Foundation
Move your mouse over the sideways-scrolling images and see them enlarge slightly. That's pretty cool, we think. (Sighted by Susan Parini)
Beckett Media Design
This sight is fun to explore. Their use of animation to emulate different film genres is remarkable.
Room 102 Slide Show Search Engine
Hey, at least they're honest. They say their search engine isn't as good as Google's and their directory isn't as good as Yahoo's, so why bother? Well, their search results show Web site thumbnails, alongside the usual metatag descriptions. That counts as pretty cool in our book! (Sighted by Stefan Gruenwedel)
Firebox
This UK-based e-commerce site not only has unique wares (great stuff for hard-to-shop-for boys!) but has a great visual interface with small, accessible GIFs, great inventory categorization, and currency translation. (Sighted by Lori Piquet)
Harrah's
Harrah's casinos makes nice use of Flash to turn a boring old marketing site (see our specials!) into something far more interactive. You can even play gamble online, but you have to sign up for their Total Rewards program. Beware the junk mail. (Sighted by Lori Piquet)
Topica
It is a good and rare thing in 2001 to find a site online that does something different and also useful. Topica is a community site that lets anyone create and send an email newsletter or a discussion group on whatever topic they choose--for free. Lots of niche interest groups here that you won't find elsewhere. (Sighted by Lori Piquet)
PhotoGRAPF
This site exhibits black & white pictures taken by French photographer David Sdika. Splash page is intriguing. That's the "cool" part. But his portfolio is great too. (Sighted by Susan Parini)
Galerie Clair-Obscur
This splash screen uses an interesting rollover. You could use this effect to make all kinds of things appear suddenly on your home page. (Sighted by Stefan Gruenwedel)
Saeco
Coffee and cycling. What's more Italian? This site has good taste and features a clean design, some great use of Flash, and three lads who just keep on riding. (Sighted by Mr. Radu)
Liquid Thinking
They design sites and more (and do a fine job). Click around to see their work and good ideas. (Sighted by Mr. Radu)
Weird New Jersey
Who'd think the Garden State would have so much freaky stuff going on? Read up on haunted houses, UFOs, and the downright bizarre. A very fun site. (Sighted by Mr. Radu)
Bianchi Town
Here's a new storefront idea: turn it into a cartoon town. Heavy graphics and a good time. (Sighted by Mr. Radu)
Airgid
This Canadian design firm site has won a number of awards, as its creator is not shy about showing, but a look into it explains immediately. It's loaded with creative ideas--you'll have to see for yourself. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Digitial Organism
This Baltimore-based design firm shows a lot of creativity, even though it doesn't look as it has a lot of clients just yet. There's a surprise at every click. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Pix8
I enjoyed the entry pages to this UK-based Web design firm's showcase. Plenty of action everywhere--but strangely, there's no music. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Gr8.com
Eclectic music in this Web design agency's site, and its way of presenting clients (other Web sites) is unique. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
GOD (Gathering of Developers) Games
As you might guess, this one's about video games--and the animation is very impressive. Skip the high-tech intro and get right into it. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Full Upright Position
This site for a furniture company is very simple, but you can learn something from the way subjects are indexed. It's very easy to navigate--more than you can say for most sites. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Ultimate Arcade
Yep, a gamers' site ... but what a circus! You can play on line, add games to your own site, and help build new ones. I particularly enjoy the sign-in page! (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Jotto
Outrageous cartoon characters make this a lively site for kids (and parents). Business everywhere, but lacks no creativity, that's for sure. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
OnFashion
This Portuguese modeling/casting agency really put together a doozy with this site. Touches on everything from photos of their models to anorexia--and everything in between. Action everywhere; no space left untouched. (Sighted by Chris Preimesberger)
Drunknmunkey
The name comes from a Kung-Fu style; the site sells the Drunknmunkey clothing line. The site uses great graphics and maintains its theme throughout. Check out the customizable T-shirt page. (Sighted by Glen Kunene)
M&M
This advertising agency's site is worth a visit just to see the interactive examples of its business elements. They're actually games and puzzles that the user can play. (Sighted by Glen Kunene)
istudy4.com
What do you study for? This South African online tutorials company uses a typing cursor on its splash page to show some of the things the user could acquire after studying with its courses. It’s funny and it pulls you into the Web site. (Sighted by Glen Kunene)
Stereotype Design
This Web design site has a clean but effective design with lots of white space. With a few clicks, you can select different color palettes and music to view all the design's possibilities. (Sighted by Glen Kunene)
