| Time Magazine's 2002 Best Inventions Ok, I know I'm a little late on this one, as I'm sure they're compiling the 2003 list right now... but I stumbled across this and just had to share. You have to check out these 40 inventions from last year--fascinating stuff. And the Time Magazine site is clean and lovely to compliment the content. (Sighted by Carrie Sherrill) | I Want My Flash TV This is a slick collection of short Flash movies in various genres--everything from commercials to horror to romance. The action movie, "Secret Agent Dan, #3" was my personal favorite. (Sighted by Carrie Sherrill) | TechExtreme.com If you're the kind of person who likes to read Discovery, National Geographic, Science or Nature, or you peruse the computing magazines for insight into future capabilities, this site is perfect for you. TechExtreme publishes forward-looking articles on computing technology, as well as selected tech news articles and opinion. The site uses a last-in first-out queue metaphor, where the newest articles appear with icons on the main page and older articles get pushed over to a menu bar on the right. Eventually, they disappear into a week-length archive accessible via a link on the bottom. Unfortunately, it's unclear where they go from there, so check the site at least weekly. (sighted by Russell Jones) | flashcomponents.net Macromedia Flash MX components are bundled movie clips with ActionScript programming interfaces that enable you to write sophisticated applications. The flashcomponents.net site is a repository of Flash MX components where you can browse, download, and discuss Flash MX Components--and even submit your own. (sighted by Glen Kunene) |
