Eiffel# sample

C# HTTP Server Sample
C# sample code to implement an HTTP server. Sam Pullara tells us this code has been updated recently. The changes include enhanced security, better fault handling, and generally cleaner, more understandable code. (updated 8/8/2001)

Says, Don Box: "I got tired of waiting around to compile my C# programs, so I wrote a WSH clone that works with VB, C#, or JScript. You just feed it a source file and it generates an in-memory assembly and jumps into it. TheDotNetSource: The Programmer's Source for .NET Developers
Michael Eaton's site is dedicated to developers learning the .NET platform and tools. He concentrates on C# and VB.NET. "For every example I post, source code for both languages will be included. UnrealDownload
Just yesterday, Joe Hardy posted a free, open source download manager utilizing the Microsoft .NET Framework. He says, "This project was originally started as an attempt to familiarise myself with a number of things including C# and the .NET platform. As well as that, I was getting sick of all these commercialised download managers with all their in-your-face ads and thought I'd release it under the GPL and see what other people thought of it." We thought that was cool enough to mention here, even though it's still in beta. (added 11/15/2000)

ILM Web Services
Farhan Muhammad has created a Web Service called TrackIt that "provides comprehensive functionality for defect tracking and monitoring needs." There is also a client application in ASP+ that uses this service. The client app can be viewed at the site and its source code can be downloaded. (added 2/28/2001)

XML Viewer Using C#
Yi-Min Wei has written an XML viewer application using C# and the .NET framework. The example demonstrates how to read an XML document using the DOM and how to use the treeview and listview controls. (added 2/28/2001)

Casey Chesnut's site, nfamy.com, is a "database about people" and what people have to say about them. It "was developed in less than a month by one person...is one of the first entirely .NET Web sites developed using Visual Studio.NET,...[and] has a sweet wireless Web interface using the ASP.NET mobile controls." LiveQuoteService Web Service
This Web Service from Prasad Desikan Venkatesh gets the latest Nasdaq stock quotes for any given stock symbol. There are four methods—MSNGetLastQuote, MSNGetPrevQuote, MSNGetCompanyName, and MSNGetBreakingNews. The first three take the stock symbol as a String parameter. The sample code using the Service is available at aspx.securewebs.com/prasadv/LiveQuotes.aspx, which has been implemented as a user Web Control. (added 4/11/2001)

Breaking News Service
This Web Service from Prasad Desikan Venkatesh helps Web portal developers place breaking news from CNN, MSN MoneyCentral, CBS, CBS Sports on their Web pages. It renders the contents as an HTML-formatted string. The sample code for using the service will be made available shortly. (added 4/11/2001)

Chat Web Service
This Web Service from Prasad Desikan Venkatesh helps developers of chat application use the peer-to-peer capabilities of .NET. (added 4/11/2001)

angryCoder eZine.Framework Source Code
Jonathan Goodyear's angryCoder site includes the source code that operates it, called the eZine.Framework. It is completely database driven. The eZine.Framework codebase is the same codebase that angryCoder is built on. (added 4/26/2001)

Portable.NET
This project from Southern Storm Software aims to build a stable and portable interpreter for .NET platform binaries, together with a suite of open source tools to build .NET applications. The initial target platform is Linux, with other platforms to follow in the future. An early version of the product, available under the terms of the GNU General Public License. (added 5/9/2001)

CapeConnect Web Services Platform
Cape Clear's CapeConnect Web Services Platform dynamically generates SOAP XML from any J2EE, EJB, or CORBA component. The generated XML can be exposed as a Web Service. CapeConnect also enables the resulting Web Service to be easily customized and composed with other Web Services. (added 8/8/2001)
